Wij zijn kunstcollectief YAFF (sinds 2017). Onze focus ligt op sociaal-maatschappelijke vraagstukken. We vinden iets van de wereld en geloven in de kracht van het beeld. Daarom stellen we steeds opnieuw de vraag: wat kan kunst betekenen binnen een maatschappelijke context?

We starten elk project vanuit de waarden die onze leden met zich meebrengen. Zorg voor elkaar en de wereld, duurzaamheid – zowel in materiaalgebruik als in werkwijze – belichaming en samenwerking vormen de kern van ons collectief. Thema’s die ons dagelijks leven en de toekomst raken, benaderen we vanuit ethische, politieke, filosofische en kunsthistorische perspectieven.

Onze werkmethodes zijn veelzijdig: we recyclen, bouwen, schrijven, spreken, ontwerpen, naaien, bewegen en maken. Deze processen vertalen zich in uiteenlopende vormen – van souvenirs tot leven-de statistieken, van workshops en lesmethodes tot installaties, publicaties en performances.

We are YAFF, an art collective founded in 2017. Our work centers around social issues. We have opinions about the world and believe in the power of visual language. This drives us to continuously ask: what can art mean within a social context?

Each project begins with the values our members bring to the table. Care—for one another and for the world—sustainability in both materials and methods, embodiment, and collaboration are at the core of our practice. We engage with themes that shape our present and future, approaching them through ethical, political, philosophical, and art-historical perspectives.

Our methods are diverse: we recycle, build, write, speak, design, sew, move, and make. These processes manifest in a wide range of forms—souvenirs, living statistics, workshops, educational tools, installations, publications, and performances.
