Landschap & kunst

Een lezing door kunsthistoricus Rebecca Nelemans in het kader van kunstenfestival THINKING LANDSCAPE in Borkel en Schaft. Ze neemt ons mee naar het ontstaan van het landschap als genre in de schilderkunst bij Renaissanceschilders als Giorgione. Maar gaat vanaf die vroeg zestiende eeuw hink-stap-sprong door de kunstgeschiedenis. Ze zoomt in op die momenten dat kunstenaars letterlijk met een nieuwe blik naar het landschap keken en toont hoe het landschap zelf steeds meer materiaal werd voor uiteenlopende kunstenaars.

A lecture by art historian Rebecca Nelemans, as part of the arts festival THINKING LANDSCAPE in Borkel and Schaft. She takes us back to the origins of landscape as a genre in painting, with Renaissance artists such as Giorgione. From the early sixteenth century onward, she leaps through art history, focusing on moments when artists quite literally looked at the landscape with new eyes. She shows how the landscape itself increasingly became material for a wide range of artists.
