De natuurinclusieve organisatie ’t Mortelke neemt je mee in een interactieve lezing over de bijzondere band tussen landschap, natuur, voedsel, mens en dorp. Hoe kunnen we ons landschap gebruiken om op een natuurlijke manier voedsel te produceren en tegelijk de verbinding met de omgeving te versterken? En hoe verhoudt dit zich tot het landschap van Borkel en Schaft?

Tijdens de lezing vertelt ’t Mortelke het verhaal van het eetbare landschap en laat je dit ook ervaren. We kijken naar hoe het eetbare landschap van Borkel en Schaft door de jaren heen is veranderd, welke gevolgen dat heeft gehad, en hoe we weer meer in verbinding kunnen komen met het land, de natuur en elkaar.

Ook werpen we een blik op de toekomst en laten we zien wat er allemaal mogelijk is: voedselbossen, eetbare bermen, kruidenrijke tuinen, gezamenlijke moestuinen en andere initiatieven die het landschap productief én levendig maken. We delen voorbeelden van wat er al gebeurt en geven praktische handvatten zodat ook jij kunt bijdragen aan een rijk, eetbaar landschap in en rond Borkel en Schaft.

Het is een verhaal van samen, van verbinding en van durven doen. Een uitnodiging om te ontdekken hoe we het landschap kunnen koesteren, ons voedsel dichter bij huis kunnen beleven en een hechtere band kunnen opbouwen met onze omgeving en elkaar.

Panel Discussion ‘Edible Landscape’

The nature-inclusive organization ’t Mortelke invites you to an interactive talk about the special bond between landscape, nature, food, people, and community. How can we use our landscape to produce food in a natural way while also strengthening our connection with the environment? And how does this relate to the landscape of Borkel and Schaft?

During the talk, ’t Mortelke will share the story of the edible landscape – and let you experience it too. We will explore how the edible landscape of Borkel and Schaft has changed over the years, what consequences this has had, and how we can once again reconnect with the land, nature, and each other.

We will also take a look at the future, showcasing what is possible: food forests, edible road verges, herb-rich gardens, community vegetable plots, and other initiatives that make the landscape both productive and vibrant. We will share examples of what is already happening and offer practical tools so that you too can contribute to a rich, edible landscape in and around Borkel and Schaft.

It is a story of togetherness, of connection, and of daring to act. An invitation to discover how we can cherish the landscape, experience our food closer to home, and build a stronger bond with our environment and each other.
