Joanne Bird is een Nederlandse singer-songwriter. Ze maakt indie- en americana-folkmuziek met een vleugje jazz. Met inspiratiebronnen als James Taylor, First Aid Kit en Carole King neemt ze je mee op een persoonlijke en muzikale reis.

Na haar Master of Music aan het Conservatorium van Amsterdam reisde Joanne vijf maanden lang door de grote muzieksteden van de Verenigde Staten om inspiratie op te doen, op te nemen en op te treden. Onderweg werkte ze samen met gevestigde muzikanten in Nashville, New York, Boston en New Jersey, met wie ze nog steeds optreedt en de studio in duikt. De invloed van deze reizen hoor je duidelijk terug in haar muziek. Haar derde EP, Unusual Fairytales, werd opgenomen in Asbury Park (New Jersey) en kwam in mei 2025 uit in samenwerking met Amber Music (NL) en MAD Records (Nashville).

Sinds de release van de videoclip van haar nummer Angel wordt Joanne ondersteund door Martin Guitar. Met dit nummer trad ze ook op tijdens de Berlin Music Video Awards. Daarnaast is ze Voting Member van de Recording Academy. In de afgelopen maanden opende ze onder meer voor Steph Strings (AUS), Billy Walton Band (US) en Jana Mila (NL).

Joanne begon al op vijfjarige leeftijd met pianospelen. Daarna volgden zang en gitaar. Ze ontwikkelde zich verder tijdens haar Bachelor aan Fontys Academy of the Arts in Tilburg en haar Master of Music in Amsterdam, waarbij ze ook meerdere keren in New York studeerde. Door de jaren heen kreeg ze vocale coaching van onder anderen Lucy Woodward, Jim Mola, Machan Taylor en Marle Thomson.

After completing her Master of Music at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, Joanne spent five months traveling through the major music cities of the United States to find inspiration, record, and perform. Along the way, she collaborated with established musicians in Nashville, New York, Boston, and New Jersey, with whom she continues to perform and record. The influence of these travels is clearly reflected in her music. Her third EP, Unusual Fairytales, was recorded in Asbury Park (New Jersey) and released in May 2025 in collaboration with Amber Music (NL) and MAD Records (Nashville).

Since the release of the music video for her song Angel, Joanne has been supported by Martin Guitar. The song also earned her a performance at the Berlin Music Video Awards. She is furthermore a Voting Member of the Recording Academy. In recent months, Joanne has opened for Steph Strings (AUS), Billy Walton Band (US), and Jana Mila (NL).

Joanne started playing piano at the age of five, soon followed by singing and guitar. She continued to develop her skills during her Bachelor studies at Fontys Academy of the Arts in Tilburg and her Master of Music in Amsterdam, with additional periods of study in New York City. Over the years, she has received vocal coaching from Lucy Woodward, Jim Mola, Machan Taylor, and Marle Thomson.
